In a Nut Shell...
A nice romance with super sweet/hot hero, though the writing made the story seemed a little too silly at times.

My Thoughts
The truth is I still think this book is not as good as what I had expected. However, if comparing it to the second book in the series, this one is so much better. I still didn't like the whole misunderstanding and the running-away things, but it was hard not to love Jax when he was super charming and all that.
Calla was a nice character as she wasn't way too sweet to the point it was nauseating. I liked how she handled the problems, even at times she was a little too naive in my opinion. I felt sorry for her that she had to hind who she really was. It was awful that the scars on her face and body made her feel insecure.
Jax was my favorite character in this book. But yes, he still made me want to slap him a couple of times when he was so clueless that he just stood there and let another girl touch and flirt with him. Jax was super sweet which reminded me a lot of Cam back in the first book. I loved how he treated Calla, took care of her and tried to protect her.
The storyline in general was intriguing. I loved the suspense added into the mix when it turned out Calla's mother involved in some kind of problem with a drug dealer. How everything ended, though, was a little too convenient and hasty.
The writing wasn't my favorite, for there were way too many words that kept popping up constantly.
All in all, it was a nice and sweet romance. It's a good choice for those who are looking for a quick read in new adult genre that doesn't overly lean toward secretive characters with dark and tormenting past.
